Cleansing Pea Broccoli Soup Recipe

Cleansing Pea Broccoli Soup Recipe

This week, my hubby, Adi, and I created this beautifully green, cleansing soup recipe for Tastemade - he got to take it to work since he helped as my sous chef, but I definitely had some sips before he left. It was SO tasty! You can watch us make it in the the video below and then create your own rendition at home!

The star ingredients in this detoxifying soup are broccoli and green peas (you can keep both in your freezer and pull them out anytime you want to whip up this recipe). Together, these delicious veggies provide an abundance of vitamins B1, C, and K, as well as manganese, fiber, chromium, copper, phosphorus, and folate. By stirring in a spoonful of Green Dream, you also add a burst of plant-based protein.

Since it's been cold in LA this week, this soup really hit the spot. I also recommend swapping out a few meals a week for a blended soup like this to give your hard-working digestive system a well-deserved break!

Gather This:

  • 1/2 bag frozen peas
  • 1 1/2 cups of broccoli
  • 1/2 onion, roughly chopped
  • a few handfuls of mixed greens
  • 5 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 inch of fresh ginger, peeled
  • juice of one lemon
  • 7 ounces almond mylk (if you like it smoother + creamier)
  • 15 ounces water
  • juice of one lemon
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend
  • 1 teaspoon of mirch (chili flakes)
  • 1 teaspoon miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon tamari (gluten-free soy sauce)
  • salt + pepper

Do This:

Heat the olive oil in a saucepan, and cook the ginger, garlic, and onion until fragrant. Add tamari, greens, broccoli, and then stir. After adding the water and frozen peas, heat for 15 minutes. Add mixture to a high-speed blender, along with lemon, almond milk, miso paste, and Green Dream. Blend until smooth and then season with chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Pour into your favorite bowl + ENJOY!

This was so amazing! I had everything but the miso paste on hand. So nourishing and comforting on a snowy day. Will be making double batches going forward. Thanks for the great recipe!
