Sage + Berry Honey Soda Cocktail Recipe

Sage + Berry Honey Soda Cocktail Recipe

I love creating delicious cocktails for guests at my holiday gatherings and this Sage + Berry Honey Soda is the perfect combination of naughty and nice. Sage is a beautiful ingredient to use in winter cocktails! Its deep green color and cool, herbal flavor are reminiscent of wintery pine making it feel festive during the colder months, and it has also been revered for it’s healing properties across many different cultures. You may have heard of burning dried sage to clear energy in a new home or at a meditation or yoga studio, but sage has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and can promote healthy digestion when eaten. In this recipe, the benefits of fresh sage are infused into naturally anti-bacterial Manuka Honey that has been spiked with our immunity-boosting Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Powder. A splash of fresh lime juice adds an extra dose of vitamin C and gingerade kombucha promotes overall health with tons of detoxifying antioxidants and beneficial probiotics. Sip this sparkly beverage during your next cocktail party and you just might find yourself feeling merry and bright!

Gather This:

  • 3 ounces vodka
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice

  • 1-2 ounces G.T.’s gingerade kombucha
  • 2-3 ounces club soda
  • 1/4 cup Berry Bliss Manuka honey
 + 1 teaspoon for garnish
  • 1/4 cup water

  • 3 fresh sage leaves + 1 extra for garnish
  • ginger sugar for garnish (can be bought or made by blending chopped crystallized ginger with sugar in a food processor)

Do This:

First, create a sage and berry honey syrup by combining the Berry Bliss Manuka honey, water, and 3 sage leaves in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and stir until it appears that all of the honey has dissolved. Remove from heat and let sit until completely cooled to room temperature. Remove sage leaves before using. This can be made well ahead of time and stored in a jar in the fridge.

Next, create the honey ginger rim. On a plate, make a line of ginger sugar. Take your glass of choice, martini glasses work best, and rub about a teaspoon of honey on 1/4 of the rim. Then, slowly roll the rim of the glass across the ginger sugar to coat the honey-covered section of the rim.

Fill shaker with ice, then add vodka, lime juice, kombucha, club soda, and about 1 ounce of the sage and berry honey syrup depending on desired sweetness. Stir or swirl, but do not shake. Strain and pour into the glass. Garnish with an extra sage leaf and serve. Enjoy!
