Here in the Philosophie community deprivation does not exist in our vocabulary. We count colors not calories, implement cleanses as a way to flood our bodies with nourishment, and aim to make every food a superfood, including pancakes, cookies, and ice cream. Sometimes, though, we decide to give our systems a bit of a reset in order to feel our absolute best. We can find ourselves making treats and indulgences into regular habits. While we don’t label these choices as “good” or “bad,” we aim to be mindfully eating from a place of intuition. Habits and addictive patterns can interfere with our intuitive superpowers. For this reason, I decided to join their 10 Day Refuel Cleanse.
The 10 Day Refuel Cleanse is a 10-day, low sugar cleanse designed to help you kick cravings, feel energized and connected to yourself, and restore a healthy microbiome. Our guts are populated good bacteria, probiotic bacteria, and bad bacteria. The probiotic bacteria feed off of prebiotic rich, fibrous foods like apples, asparagus, onions, and garlic. The bad bacteria feed off of sugar. When we consume too much sugar, Candida and yeast overgrowth can develop. Having some levels of Candida and yeast is necessary, but too much can leave you craving more sugar, feeling sluggish, and even moody. Obviously sugars from whole food sources like complex carbohydrates, fruit, and vegetables provide our bodies with more nutrition than baked goods, but our gut bacteria are unable to tell the difference between types of sugar. While we adore glorious, plant foods like fruits, we have designed the Sugar Addiction Cleanse to limit these sugars for a short amount of time in order to optimally support digestion. But don’t worry. We are in no way advocating to ditch bananas and mangos for good!
Like all of our other cleanses, the 10 Day Refuel Cleanse is designed to be delicious! We have created a booklet of simple recipes that include tapioca and chia seed pudding, burrito bowls, burgers, Cacao Magic mouse, pancakes, muffins, and a vibrant variety of smoothies and salads. While this cleanse does include quality animal protein, it offers alternatives to make it completely plat-based, if you choose.

Stuffed Peppers
Gather This:
2 bell peppers
1/2 pound ground turkey or 1 can chickpeas
1 C canned tomato puree
1 T dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, etc.)
1 T Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend
1/2 C onion, chopped
1 t garlic
2 C kale
olive oil
salt + pepper
Do This:
Add all ingredients to a blender, blend + serve!
Cut out the core of the bell peppers. Sautee ground turkey or
chickpeas, onion, garlic + dried herbs in olive oil. Once the meat is
cooked entirely, add tomato puree + kale. Stuff the bell peppers with
the tomato mixture + bake at 350 degrees until soft
