Living A Healthy Lifestyle As A Family
I know a lot of parents that prioritize eating healthy for themselves, but don’t with their kids. They either don’t have the patience to force their kids to eat nutrients, or they figure that they have plenty of time to eat healthy foods in the future. Tons of clients, friends, and fellow mammas ask me all the time how I get my kids to eat superfoods and vegetables! Well, it’s no secret, so here you go!!

With my kids eating, the main question I ask myself is “Would I eat this?” If the answer is a hard “NO” or “THAT’S NOT EVEN REAL FOOD,” the simple answer to whether or not I would feed my kids this item is also no. If I’m not going to feed myself crap, then why on Earth would I give it to my kids? My most prized possessions, my little worlds!!! We all want the best for our kids, so try to think of their food choices just as anything else. It may seem like you’re making them “happier” to give them the fast food, but they will be much happier long term with their health. You can still feed them waffles and cereal (we do all the time!), but make sure you're looking at the ingredients. You want to make sure that whatever you do, your kids are eating REAL food and not just synthetic chemicals!!
My number one tip is to make healthy eating fun!! Find new recipes to cook together in the kitchen, make them feel important, and make them feel like they’re actually doing something by themselves. They get an extreme sense of an accomplishment+cooking is such a great way to spend quality time with them. Another fun excursion is a weekend trip to the farmers market. Let their curiosity run wild! Check out the new seasonal veggies and colors and flavors. Pick out some new produce and get creative in the kitchen with it. If they have a favorite color, then go off of that. Get them EXCITED to try something new that they picked out themselves and they’re curious to try! Make it a challenge to eat your colors, not your “vegetables.”
