I spent a lot of time in my teens in D.C., a majestic city that has always felt like home to me. I recently visited the beautiful capital and thought I'd share my adventures exploring amazing wellness spots in the city!
JRINK JUICERY
The first thing I do when I scout out a place I'm visiting is check out the local juice bars. If I can get juices delivered to where I'm staying, I do that to make sure I can stay balanced. My kids love to drink them also, which ensures we all prevent getting sick by boosting our immune systems with high vibrations while traveling. These juices (I tried the amazing Charcoal + Green ones) from JRINK Juicery are top notch.

BUREDO
For lunch one day, our fuel was from an adorable place in DC called Buredo. We took the kids before heading out to the national mall on an adventure. The kids each picked their own rolls + loved every bite. It's fun to eat at places the whole family can be happy!
My favorite roll was (fittingly) "the Sofi" which had shrimp tempura, avocado, pickled cabbage, carrot, toasted sesame seeds, red tobiko, + sriracha mayo. Sooo yummy!

DOWN DOG
Yoga is one of my non-negotionables while traveling. When the weather is beautiful + warm enough, I love to go outside in nature to practice. I also enjoy scoping out the local yoga studios + getting to know the community. One of my favorite studios in the D.C. area is Down Dog, which is a hot vinyasa style, leaving me feeling strong + cleansed after days of Christmas cookie consumption.
.EQUINOX
Thanks to Chef Todd Gray, I had an impeccable dinner at Equinox. Everything from the appetizers to the desserts were exquisite (+ I use that term once a year, if that!).
To start, the risotto fritters were out of control. I'm glad there were two men at the table who scarfed them up before I could eat them all myself. My inner southern girl wanted to eat the whole bowl and order a second round (thank goodness the rest of the entrees distracted me shortly after these were gone!).
The truffled potato and forest mushroom pierogies were one of our favorite dishes. These were the first vegan pierogies I've had! They did not disappoint. Chef Gray came to our table to welcome us and made me my own vegan tasting based on his personal favorites! He stayed the entire time to make sure we were happy and did all the magical finishing touches, such as grating the fresh truffle onto my food. Oh. Em. Gee.

The heirloom beet carpaccio was light and delicious
—the in-season blood orange took the flavor to the next level. I could've eaten that dish every day I was on vacation and not gotten tired of it.
The white bean cassoulet was delicious, but compared to all the other dishes, it didn't stand out. If I was having it on its own as a lunch, I would've been very happy but having it at the end of my tasting wasn't the best time since I was pretty full and satisfied.
The creamy porcini and chestnut velouté was shockingly delicious. I'm not a huge mushroom fan (don't yell at me!) but this was out of CONTROL delicious!
My bestie, Eva, ordered the scallops and they were fluffy and soft - cooked to perfection.
.
The truffled risotto was BEYOND. Risotto is always one of my treat food go-to's, so I was in heaven with the risotto + truffle pairing.
.
I was very impressed with the desserts and loved the taste and consistency of the coconut and almond milk vegan vanilla ice cream. The bourbon chocolate cake was a bit dry, but otherwise, chocolate is ALWAYS my happy place.
.
The beignets were probably not vegan, but I just turned a blind eye and dug right in. My weak spot will always and forever be desserts. NO SHAME. These were equally as good as the beignets I had in New Orleans, so there you go.

I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in D.C. and try their brunch! If you're visiting the D.C. tristate area, I highly recommend you include Equinox D.C. on you list of restaurants to explore!
