What I Eat in a Day
I love to start my day drinking a BIG GLASS of water to get my system going and wake myself up! I try to get alkaline water, which has a PH of about 9.5 ph.
Once the kids are at school, I have more time to move and eat mindfully so I’ll brew a really nice superfood coffee. I use a French press and then add in one of our coconut butters (full of healthy fats!), almond milk creamer, and a bit of stevia.
Once I’ve made my coffee, I check in with my emails, my texting, and my social media and start to connect with my community, with my tribe, and with all of YOU! Looking at the cool posts you’ve created and tagged us in always makes me smile. And with that inspiration, I’ll start creating my own social posts for the day.
On days that I can’t get to the gym, I still try to move my body. I’ll usually go outside and unroll my yoga mat to inspire me to move + flow.
Then I make my favorite lemon cayenne ginger concoction. Luckily, we have a lemon tree so it’s really fun to pick the lemons, take them into the kitchen, and squeeze up own healthy version of lemonade. This particular lemon drink has cayenne pepper, lemon juice, ginger juice, and alkaline water—it helps move things along digestion-wise + is super alkalizing.
As you all know, I’m a smoothie-obsessed person. I love making smoothie bowls and adding my own nutrient-dense toppings! I usually take it over to the table and dig in there, while writing blog posts.
Just like smoothies in the morning, it’s really easy to create a mason jar salad for a grab and go lunch. I love Barlean’s Fish Oil, which is my favorite type of dressing (I really like the peach mango flavor!), or I’ll use a homemade Green Dream pesto.
Since we live in LA and are on the go all the time, we spend a lot of time in the car. But luckily, our Coconut Butter serves up an instant, nutrient-dense remedy for hangriness! Whenever we’re starving and sitting on the freeway in traffic, we pop open a jar and pass it around.
At the end of a day filled with running around with the kids and going to meetings, I love to ground down and having something warm for the night. I’ll make something simple like a pre-made soup from the freezer or quinoa + veggies (Costco has an organic quinoa and kale packet that I like!).
And if you know me, you know I LOVE sweets, so I’ll always top off my dinner with a vegan + dairy-free ice cream. I’ve happily accepted it as my jam and my indulgence + always enjoy it sans guilt!
Now I want to hear about what YOU eat in a day! Share your daily munchies with us in the comments and be sure to subscribe to the Philosophie Youtube Channel for more healthy foodie videos + recipes!

Curious as to what exactly is in the lemonade cayenne concord so I can try to recreate :)
Hi Norma,
I like Trader Joe’s vegan ice cream, as well as Steve’s Ice Cream (it was my Heart of the Week recently—http://www.thephilosophie.com/blogs/philosophie-blog/88713412-heart-of-the-week-steves-ice-cream).
Let me know if there are any you like as well that I should try!

Sophie, what ice cream do you indulge in? I can’t seem to find one worth the treat :)
Cassie, I love yams too—they’re such a good, filling snack! Thanks for sharing, beauty!

Hey Chasity,
LOVE hearing that others wake up with water, lemon, and apple cider vinegar too—it really does do the trick! Alkaline water is great because many of the foods we eat are on the acidic side (like meats, pastas, and breads) so this water helps keep our pH levels in balance.

Sophie
