Vegan Bulletproof Coffee
Is waking up to a piping hot mug of brewed coffee the best part of your morning routine? There’s nothing like snuggling up to a cup of warm coffee to get you out of bed, especially as the colder months start to approach. Although coffee is amazing, too much caffeine can be taxing on your adrenals. This recipe offers an alternative way to enjoy your coffee that won’t give you a crash later! Bulletproof coffee is all the rage these days...but if grass-fed butter in your coffee isn’t your jam but you still want the healthy fats, look no further! Why add fat to your coffee, you may ask? Pairing healthy fats with your coffee will help curb the spike of caffeine. It will digest slower, and the caffeine won’t go straight to your bloodstream. It’s a steadier and slower release of energy as opposed to a burst of caffeine and then a crash! Traditionally, bulletproof coffee is made with grass-fed butter and MCT oil. This version is vegan friendly, but the healthy fats from the coconut butter will keep you full and sustained! The Coconut Magic Coconut Butter is my favorite in this recipe, because the cacao flavor really compliments coffee! The medicinal mushrooms are totally optional, but they enhance the flavor and will boost your tonic with even more nutrients!
Gather This:
- 1 cup brewed coffee
- 2 tbsp Philosophie Coconut Butter
- Cinnamon to taste
- 1 tsp Cacao Magic
- 1 tsp each Pearl, astragalus, and ashwagandha medicinal mushrooms
Do This:
- Brew your coffee regularly
- Combine all of of the ingredients in a high-speed blender
- Pour in your favorite mug and drink MINDFULLY!
Another tip--Drink your coffee mindfully. Instead of chugging your coffee while you’re rushing out the door, or sipping it during your morning commute, enjoy it as a ritual. Experience the sensation of the warm mug in your hand, and savor the flavors and smells. This will enable you to appreciate the experience more. Your body will also be able to gauge when it’s had enough if you are taking the time and care to drink mindfully!

This was AMAZING. You are so right about the cacao magic tasting delicious with the coffee! I decided to give bulletproof coffee (vegan, of course) a try, but I was sure I wouldn’t like it….and now I plan on adding this to my morning routine. Next step will be adding the mushrooms! Thanks, Sophie!!
