Labor Day BBQ: Sweet Grilled Fruit

Labor Day BBQ: Sweet Grilled Fruit

Grilled Summer Fruit

just in time for Labor Day BBQ's! Bring these simple ingredients to your BBQ to add some sweetness to everyone's plate! To prep ahead of time, simply half the figs + peaches so they can be thrown on the grill when you get there.

gather:

  • 4 peaches
  • 2 pints fresh Black Mission figs (or any other kind of fig–plan on 6 half-figs per person)
  • 4 T grapeseed Oil
  • 3 T of berry bliss superfood honey
  • Optional – Greek Yogurt for garnish

do this:

PEACHES :: Preheat grill to medium. Halve + pit your peaches + brush them all around lightly with grapeseed oil. Place them on the grill cut side down. Grill for 3-4 minutes until grill marks appear. Flip, grill the other side. Serve warm, with a drizzle of superfood honey. If you like add a spoonful of Greek Yogurt!

Figs :: Place the figs cut-side down on the grill, beginning with the area of the grill closest to you (when you begin taking them off you don’t want to have to reach over the other still cooking figs + risk knocking them between the bars).  Grill with the top down for two minutes, then check for doneness.  (They should be squishy.)  If they still need to cook, turn them over.  They shouldn’t take any more than another minute, but you don’t want the cut side to burn.

Arrange on plate, drizzle with superfood honey!

what else do you plan on bringing to your Labor Day party?

What do you plan on doing this weekend? We have a lot of nothingness -- hanging out at our new home, swimming with the kiddos, playing, BBQing + hanging with family + friends. These are MY FAVORITE types of weekends! Please share why you are excited for the extra long weekend!
