Superfood Doggy Biscuits

Superfood Doggy Biscuits

I like making sure that everyone in my family, including little Lucca (who you can spot hanging out in my flow videos), eats nourishing treats that are free of yucky preservatives and questionable ingredients.

These cute doggy treats are the perfect snack to make for your furry friends when they’re being super sweet or when you just want to show them some extra love. I usually can’t help but munch on one myself, although I try not to let Lucca see!

Gather This:

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup of nut butter (peanut butter is a doggy favorite!)
  • 2/3 cup sweet potato or pumpkin purée
  • 3 small eggs or 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp of Green Dream Superfood + Protein Powder
  • 2 tbsp of Green Bee Manuka Honey (for safety reasons, do not include if you’re making the biscuits for a puppy)
  • dash of salt

Do This:

While the oven is preheating to 350°F, cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Add the nut butter, purée, and eggs to a bowl and beat with an electric mixer on high until everything becomes evenly mixed. Add 1 cup of flour at a lower speed, beating until the flour becomes absorbed into the dough. Gradually keep adding 1/3 cup of flour until the mixture is smooth.

Sprinkle flour on a cutting board and knead the dough several times. With a rolling pin, flatten it out so that it’s about ¼ of an inch thick. Then use fun bone-shaped cookie cutters or form your dough into whatever shape your pup will love most.

Place the shapes onto the baking sheet and bake until the biscuits become a lovely golden brown. For crunchier treats, you can also bake them for about 20-25 minutes, or for chewier biscuits about 10-15 minutes.

Let the biscuits cool completely before giving them to your pup and pop them into the fridge if you’d like them to last a little longer!

Snap a pic of your pooch enjoying their supercharged treats and share it with us on Instagram with #myphilosophie and #superpup!
